Welcome to the International Commission on Climate and Energy Security.
In June 2008 during the GLOBE G8 + 5 Tokyo Legislators Forum it was agreed that GLOBE will create three complementary International Commissions comprising senior legislators from G8+ 5 countries. These Commissions would oversee the policy specific content for GLOBE’s Legislators Forums. Given the complexities of the subjects there will be inter-dependencies between the Commissions. The Commissions will act to provide continuity in GLOBE’s policy development and will seek inputs from relevant experts and business representatives as required. The International Commission on Climate and Energy Security will provide national and regional insights into specific policy questions and act as an interface between policy development and practical political application. Ultimately, they will politically test thinking and develop specific regulatory/policy recommendations for legislators and governments.
