Minister Xie Zhenhua, Vice Chairman of China’s National Development & Reform Commission (China’s Planning Ministry) launched the Chinese edition of the 3^rd GLOBE Climate Legislation Study.

The first meeting of GLOBE’s "2nd track" of discussions on climate change between leading Chinese Government officials and European legislators took place in Venice on the 16th September.

Following the launch of GLOBE DRC, the GLOBE International Secretariat and the CN-REDD organised a full day Forest Legislation Workshop on REDD+ on 19th September. One hundred and fifty participants attended the event and the audience was primarily formed by legislators.

In a high level address to 300 legislators participating in the 1st GLOBE World Summit of Legislators, UNFCCC Executive Secretary, Christiana Figueres, recognised the critical importance of advancing national climate change legislation to create the political conditions for an agreement in 2015.

President Felipe Calderón of Mexico has formally signed the decree enacting Mexico's General Law of Climate Change.  The law advanced by GLOBE Mexico enters into legal force following landslide votes in the Senate and Chamber of Deputies.
